My name is Tevin Campbell, I live in Chino Hills, California and I am 25 years old. Biking has been a big part of my life ever since I was little, I raced and free rode motocross all of my life. Getting older, I started to not race motocross as much since it was a hard sport to maintain the bike. Getting friends to go with you to the track or even make Glamis trips was difficult to plan due to how much more work motocross is. I think mountain biking is more of an individual sport, it’s easy to grab and go and find a local trail to get the same adrenalin rush. I started riding when I was able to save enough money to buy my first Giant Trance. There is something different when you go from motocross to mountain bikes because you get some type of benefit when all your energy and body power goes into performance that you can’t get from a machine. What better way to explore National Parks and local mountains by going fast, dodging trees with the power of your own legs; exhausted and enthralled. For me, it’s one of the best getaways to clear the mind from the day to day life. For all the love I have for this sport, I have the opportunity to build my career while I race. I am currently enrolled full time at Cal Poly Pomona for my Bachelor’s in Electromechanical System Engineering Technology and will graduate by 2020. While finding time in between classes, I am either hitting the gym or training on my bike; trying to get better and faster. I entered my first race at the end of 2017 and by the end of 2018, was my first real sponsorship from the ssbmtb family. Without them I wouldn’t have been able to do so well and not only attend races but to win races with them on my side. I give them so much credit for where I am today, they aren't just my sponsor but they are my family and I’m so proud to be apart of them. With the SSB team I recently received the 2018 Southridge Fall Series title in the Expert class. Before I started racing, I've always felt if I put my mind to any sport that I've tried, that I could become pro at it. So far I have proved to myself that I can do it, but this year I am determined to have bigger goals and achieve titles as a pro.
