Bio:
My name is Zach Rante, I am nineteen years old, and live in Southern California. I first threw my leg over a bike at 4 years old, and right then a two-wheel addiction began. I found downhill mountain biking on my family's annual trip to Mammoth Lakes California, and gave it a try in 2009. In 2014 I began racing downhill at the local Southridge USA races, I gained experience and my passion for racing grew.
In 2017, I decided to begin racing enduro, in an effort to improve my fitness for downhill racing. The challenge of enduro racing, balancing the speed of downhill and the fitness of cross country, quickly became my new obsession. I moved up through the ranks, beginning in sport and moving from top five, to top three, and finally standing on top of the podium. Finishing my first season of enduro racing with a second overall in Sport Men U34 Enduro.
In 2018 I made the decision to take racing seriously. I trained in the off-season as much as possible, countless hours in the gym, on the road, and on the mountain bike. Heading into the 2018 race season, with the support of SSBMTB and many other great companies, I was very excited and confident. The first race weekend of the season, the training paid off, snagging the win in both Expert Men U34 Enduro and Expert Men 19-29 downhill.
With a great start to the season, I am extremely happy and motivated for the rest of the race season. I look forward to spending more time racing, and making many more great memories with the entire SSBMTB crew.
